Get Sh!t Completed- Week 4

So here is my list of things I am going to try to finish in December:

  • Feedback on the next 3 chapters that I am beta reading. I have been a bad reader and would not be surprised if this is the last I will get to read. Sorry about that.
  • Clean out “Studio” make it a usable room. This one is going to be a huge task, one that I have been putting off but needs to be done.
  • Finish scarf for DS
  • Wrap and pack everything to be shipped
  • Ship stuff to AZ and PA this would be stuff for Christmas
  • Make BFF’s hula hoop, this will be sent to PA along with other gifts.
  • Move out of second storage unit.
  • Make wreaths for people.
  • Make skirt that I have been putting off.
  • Make Steampunk hat for Fat Dragon Store.
  • Make handmade crocheted dish cloths for everyone. I have completed 9 that leaves me 6 more to complete by 12/24.
  • Fix the caulking behind the kitchen sink.
  • Get old papers shredded
  • Send out a few holiday cards. Maybe take a family photo to go with them.
  • Christmas shopping of course this one cannot really be put off, but would like to get most of  it done sooner than later.
  • Tree up

 

We are now on week-4. While this list is not done I did get some of the things that have been lingering out there done or at least started.

I was able to get started on the “Studio”, this is going to be a task that will take a while longer. I need to pack all the craft stuff up to take it to the storage. Then I need to get  the rest of the room set up and get a bed. This is going to be a while still but I think I may have it done by the end of January.

The other 3 items are things that I will, just work on as I have a free moment.

I think over all this was a pretty good month for Getting Sh!t Completed. I may do this again in June if you want to join me then. I hope you Got Sh!t Completed on your list. Thanks to @Dutchbeingme for joining in this month.

This weekend was not very high on the I got things accomplished  scale, but there where some small thing that I was able to get done. Things where shipped so that is good. I never send stuff for any holiday, I know I am a horrible person, but for some reason this year I wanted to.

I am going to start the redo on the studio. This is going to be a huge task. I am basically gutting the room so that I can turn it in a working bedroom. There will be a TV in there and my roll- top desk where all my make-up is kept, and that will be pretty much all that is in there.

I am not getting rid of my craft stuff, this is why I have to keep the second smaller storage unit. I will use it for storage for items that are waiting to be sent out from any sales from FatDragonCrafts.

So wish me luck on my huge task a head of me.

Get Sh!t Done Week 2

So the list is moving along, slowly but it is moving along. I also notice that there seems to be more stuff added to it. I am great for having bright ideas that take time. I have added crocheted dish cloths that I need to send out with the rest of the gifts. The hitch is that I need 9 of them to be ready this week so I can send stuff on Saturday.

I have the week before Christmas off which is pretty cool, but it is also when I am going to work on both the “Studio” redo and the Storage units issue. We have decided that I need to have two, units one for all the stuff we have in storage and one for all of my craft supplies. So Instead of getting rid of the second one I am going to downsize to a very small one, so I have some where to put all my supplies when the studio has been cleaned out. I have been using the larger one that we have but there will not be enough room for all of the stuff I have in the “Studio”. I am a bit disappointed about that one not being completed but it is something that has to be done. The smaller unit will still save me some money in the long run it is cheaper then the second one we have now.

The week before Christmas is going to be busy, the “Studio” is a multi day task and it is going to be hard work, it always is but I will be happy to have it done. I have been putting it off for about a year now. It is time to get it done.

Get Sh!t Completed

I am very good at starting things. In fact I can start things with the best of them. The problem that I run into is finishing the things that I start. It is kind of funny when you stop to think about it, for some reason I am able to get a goal of 50,000 words in 30 days and complete it. But when it comes to things that would improve my real world, I can’t seem to follow through on them. These are things that will save me some money, who doesn’t like that. Or make my house run a bit smoother, that also would be a good thing. But I don’t seem to ever finish what I start with regards to this stuff and other stuff too.

So for the month of December I am going to be doing something that I like to call Get Shit Completed. I have a list of projects that I would like to get done before the beginning of the New Year. Some of them are fairly time-consuming, others are smaller things. So I thought I would put this out there maybe it would be a bit more accountability for me if I was to post it here for the whole world to see, or maybe it just gives me something to write about for the next few weeks.

I was thinking of doing a link-up, so if you have  some projects that are lingering and wanted to finish up you could join me too. I was thinking I would post on Monday with the link-up thingy, as most of my time to work on this stuff is on the weekends. I have never hosted a link up so this would be a first for me. I even made a cool little icon for this under taking. If you want to grab it you can.
